First in the Sun: Rucker says Canal District rink adds long-term tenant

By Patrick Sargent | August 14, 2016

As work progresses to clean up Canal District land where developers are planning an $18 million, mixed-use, dual-rink skating arena, its first college hockey tenants have agreed to a long-term lease.

Cliff Rucker, owner of Worcester Railers HC and a principal partner in the development of the former PresMet Corp. site, told Worcester Sun late Thursday, Aug. 11, the Becker College men’s and women’s hockey teams will join the Railers in committing to leasing space, including permanent locker rooms, at the planned 100,000-square-foot arena.
